Application requirements vary for each specific graduate program offered by LaGrange College, based upon the needs and preparation necessary for admission. Reviewing the application process for your program of interest will allow time to gather materials and plan your submission to be on time and complete.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Requirements
> A completed application
> An official transcript of undergraduate and previous graduate programs (if applicable)
> An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
> A two-page essay describing the journey that led to pursuing a counseling career, including how this degree program will assist in pursing career goals
> A background check
> No revocation of licenses or certifications
> Three professional references
Master of Education in Higher Education Administration (M.Ed.)
Requirements
> A completed application
> An official transcript from your baccalaureate degree institution
> Resume outlining the organizations and activities from your undergraduate experience
> A minimum score on the TOEFL exam of at least 550 if English is not the applicant’s primary language
> Approval from Department of Education Chair
Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS)
Requirements
> A completed application
> An official transcript from your baccalaureate degree institution
> An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.)
Requirements
> A completed application
> An official transcript from each previous undergraduate institution, and graduate institution (if applicable)
> Three references
> A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5
> The appropriate number of semester hour credits in a content area above general education credits; and/or passage of the GACE Content Assessment in your identified concentration
> A completed Georgia Educator Ethics Entry Assessment (Test 360)
> A background check, including verification of no criminal record or dishonorable discharge from the armed services (as these will prevent teacher certification)
> Meet verification of residency requirements
> A minimum score on the TOEFL exam of at least 550 if English is not the applicant’s primary language
> A successful interview with the M.A.T. Advisor
> Approval from Department of Education Chair
Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed.)
Requirements
> A completed application
> Previous graduation from an accredited institution of higher education
> Active holder of current or renewable teaching certificate at a Level 4
> A minimum score on the TOEFL exam of at least 550 if English is not the applicant’s primary language
> Approval from Department Chair
Specialist in Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Ed.S.)
Requirements
> A completed application
> Previous graduation from an accredited institution of higher education
> Active holder of current or renewable teaching certificate at a Level 5
> A minimum score on the TOEFL exam of at least 550 if English is not the applicant’s primary language
> Approval from Department Chair
Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Ed.D.)
Requirements
> A completed application
> Minimum GPA of 3.5 from all graduate coursework attempted
> Criminal background clearance and/or current public-school teaching certificate
> Passing score on the Georgia Assessment of Content Evaluation (GACE) in Curriculum and Instruction at the Professional Level
> A Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC) or from a non-Georgia CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) accredited institution
> Met all requirements and has applied for Georgia certification in Curriculum and Instruction
> Official score report of either the Graduate Record Examination or Miller Analogies Test taken within the past 5 years
> Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended
> Writing sample
> Successful interview, which may be conducted online
> Three letters of recommendation from individuals well-acquainted with the applicant’s professional potential and academic aptitude
> A minimum score on the TOEFL exam of at least 550 if English is not the applicant’s primary language
Tier I Educational Leadership Certification
Requirements
> A completed application
> Previous graduation from an accredited institution of higher education
> A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
> Active holder of current or renewable teaching certificate at a minimum of Level 5
> A completed Leadership Ethics Assessment
> A completed and documented Special Needs Course (either through teaching certificate or transcript)
> Approval from Department Chair
